Role of Student Organization Advisor
Any SCO may have a full-time Chapaman faculty/staff advisor. SCOs within the Academic category are required to have a full-time Chapman faculty/staff advisor associated with that discipline. 所有顾问必须完成 顾问确认表格 each semester via 黑豹连接.
Advisors are encouraged to talk with student leaders to co-create the role, 责任, and time commitment of the advisor for that specific organization. 无论结果如何, the advisor can play a critical role in supporting the organization while still allowing it to run independently so students can gain valuable leadership experience with their peers.
Some of the 责任 the advisor may want to consider are:
- Help the club navigate campus resources, policies & 程序
- Assist the club in developing an understanding of fulfilling its mission and purpose at Chapman
- Ensure that the organization maintains 好站 by attending President's Council and submitting the End of Semester report
- Be a liaison between the club 和 University – share chapter successes and university information
- Challenge and support the club to continuously grow and improve
